Death of a killer.........

You know I drove yesterday afternoon, and kept driving not knowing where I was going. I knew where I wanted to be and I was on my way there but I turned around and didn't end up going home. The person I wanted to see wasn't there, and I knew she wasn't. So I kept driving. All I thought about was her. There are other things that can keep me busy, I usually have about 50 phone calls mixed in with people calling my name.....but they all just seem to be more bothersome lately. She won't admit it but she did think about me yesterday, how much I'm sure I'll never know.

I've been playing with some carving and wanted to see what I could do sculpture-wise. I want to play more with that kind of stuff but it's gonna have to wait. Anyhow here's a snapshot of piece. I kept the same type of head as my SOLO TIEMPO's and wrapped an Indian blanket around him. He's going into the cavern, but I still have to add a base with a spot for a candle in the front. That way when you light it you'll get the full effect. Keep in mind its my first one so take it easy.

You'll notice I've got bear paws on his chest area, this was to show strength. He's going into the cave, so I guess I'd interpret this piece as........The figure going to sleep or hibernating like a bear would, or He's going into the cave to fall asleep and wake up on the other side. Originally this piece was for the DIA DE LOS MUERTOS show at ADELANTE GALLERY. So I guess the piece would really fall under him going to sleep and waking on the other side. Again the candle in front makes sense in this way because you usually keep a candle burning in the window to call someone home. So the title of the piece is "going home". The figure is dying.
