A new piece I'm trying to come out with. These are the early stages and will be done in at least three different ways. One with more of a Wine red and a bold red called "Maduro". The other two will be more of in the blue tones in each, with the second version being slightly different. Both will be entitled "Bahia".
I was talking with a client one day and we were talking about names - how I came up with the names for some of my pieces. Its very important that I have a specific name for a piece, it helps me bring across the flavor, color, and mood of the painting. Much like following directions. Usually ,more times than not, in the past I would have the painting done before I name the piece. Sometimes I still do, but when the name comes first you can be sure that it will come out with a little extra something. After that its just a simple dance between me and the painting.....even though someone else is taking her home. Damn.
