Its been a long time since I was in a comic shop again--at least about a good month or two, and I'm happy I walked in when I did. The Ultimates Vol.3 came out with Joe Mad doing the illustration. For people who don't know Joe Mad brought this crazy style of bringing Japanese illustration with American illustration, and really changing the style in comics for awhile. He left at the top his game to pursue other things that caught his interests. Its good to see his new work, and his new style has really evolved into something else.
Another thing that I haven't done was go to a premiere screening in a long time. When I used to draw comics I would get invited and go to different movies weeks before the audience would see them. There were a number of them I went to and it always ended up being a lot of fun. So how appropriate is it that a someone hears I come back into town , ready to throw down like a champ and gives me call. They say we're doing the "I AM LEGEND" premiere are you available. I say yeah, and as quick as that he says I'll have you're name on the list at the door. That's how the day ended yesterday. So tonight, I'll be eating popcorn and sipping on a slurpee watching "I AM LEGEND". Hopefully tomorrow I'll have something for you guys to check out.
