I've had a lot of questions thrown at me the last couple of days. Stuff like, do I still like this person or where do I get or look at for inspiration. I've also been getting a lot of comments made at me both good and bad. So let me answer one or two.
Inspiration wise.... I look at a lot of different artists for different things and styles whether it be from comic books (strips) to fine art. Two that pop in my head this morning are Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. I picked these two not really fr their artwork but more so for their attitude towards the art world and the general public. Dali was not the only surrealistic artist of his time, but he is the one the stands taller than the rest. Reason being is that he acted like a rock star. He would do these weird and eccentric things that clearly separated his work (even though it spoke for itself) and himself and made him more of a public figure. Picasso would be on a more personal level. I can relate to his career....the women the way he acted and from the most part his outtake on life and the public. He really started his career very hungry and his work showed it. As he grew into his own work he started to go through different phases in his work like the "blue" period and his "cubism" work. Later in life it was obvious that he had a cockiness to his work, and was maybe a little obnoxious. He would do work that clearly was not his best, but would rather sell it off his name-sake instead. So in a lot of ways, I can relate.
Its about 6 AM, here and I've been pushing to get these jobs out of the way to make way for some new art. Like I said different comments and questions have been flying my way and honestly if people really had some kind of thought or question they really want me to answer because "it matters to them", then ask ME. Sit down and make the time to ask me honestly and I'll answer you. But don't make a stupid comment or ask something just to walk away or make an effort to literally ignore me when I'm two steps in front of you. Its insulting and really petty. Don't do it cause the only thing that's really gonna happen when someone does that, is that you're going to give me a reason for you to make an actual comment. Whatever thoughts people had about me, whatever views......you want real answers sit your butt down and ask. Stop being a chicken about. Gotta work, C-ya here are pieces by Dali and then a photo of a younger Dali before he really got wild....and also a piece by Picasso and an image of himself. Enjoy.
